Harbison-Walker has been an innovator throughout its history, especially in cement industries. Our MAGNECON® product, developed in 1928, was created specifically for rotary kiln burning zones. In the 1970's, Harbison-Walker introduced direct-bonded magnesite-chrome refractories to the cement industry. We also pioneered the development of extra-strength refractory castables and the gunite method of refractory placement Today, Harbison-Walker is setting the pace with its MAGNEL® line of third- and fourth-generation magnesia-spinel brick, featuring electrofused spinel grains. We're also authoring a new generation of castables and gun mixes, which are providing "brick like" performance in a variety of applications.
