Rotary incinerators typically consist of a rotating cylinder and a secondary combustion chamber. Rotary incinerators may be classified as either ashing or slagging depending on temperature and refractory selection will differ for each. Harbison-Walker manufactures a full line of products for rotary incinerator applications. Below is a list of refractory products designed to withstand the destructive conditions present in rotary incinerator applications.

| Secondary Combustion Chamber |
Conditions present in secondary combustion chambers often bear concern for a refractory lining's ability to withstand high temperature and load resistance. Harbison-Walker materials have a long history of successful operation in incinerator secondary combustion chambers. Below is a list of refractory products used in incinerator secondary combustion chambers.

Liquid injection units are used almost exclusively for pumpable liquid wastes but may also be used to incinerate waste gases. Units may be vertical or horizontal but most are refractory lined. The proper refractory lining is highly dependent on the environment created by the waste stream being processed. Harbison-Walker engineers and application specialists have put together a list of products often used in liquid injection units.

Refractory selection in acid quench vessels is dependent on acid resistance, thermal cycling resistance and the temperature resistance of both the refractory lining and any corrosion resistant protective coating. Harbison-Walker has developed a number a refractory materials that may be used in acid quench vessel applications.

These vessels typically use a variety of refractory products including phosphate bonded plastics, high alumina brick and insulating brick. As with all incineration vessels, the composition of the gas stream and operating temperatures primarily dictate what refractory is used to line the vessel. Harbison-Walker has provided a list of refractory products used in many thermal oxidizers.
